Meet Mark

Meet Mark Johnson

Mark is a writer, retired scientist, and life enthusiast who grew up on a farm near Greeley, Colorado.

While a young teen, he was twice rewarded $5 by his mother for reading the entirety of the Bible. This left him with a deep sense of God's presence, but wondering about the nature of God, revelations, and miracles. These seemed central to the Bible and somehow tied into the mind.

While these questions simmered, Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts in zoology and a Ph.D. in experimental statistics. A few years later, while reading George Meade's Mind, Self, and Society one night, these questions simply faded in a revelatory moment that totally changed his sense of self.

Strangely, he was only given the means to share his new understandings in bits and pieces. That changed when the courtship letters of his religious parents surfaced. In his attempt to share the relevance of the spiritual issues and understandings they faced in the late thirties, new words began emerging for sharing his own truths as well. Those words took on new life once Cheri Cowell, EA Books Publishing, pointed out the importance of a website. He is grateful in the site’s development to Diane Worden, Wordenex Plus, for the copy editing and proofreading of the site-specific downloads; to Claire Barliant for editing the downloads excerpted from his book Questioning God; to Rebecca Simpson, his daughter and Chief of Staff at Natural Life, for improving the navigation; to Chloe Simpson, his granddaughter, for the headshot; and especially to Martha, his best friend and wife of more than fifty years, for her many encouragements and substantive suggestions. He would enjoy hearing of any related understandings visitors have found helpful and of any rewarding experiences they have had in sharing them. Feel free to email him at mark@OurTruthGalaxies.com.

Mark finds that living the understandings is much easier than explaining them. He enjoys living and vacationing with Martha, being with his children and grandchildren, reading and writing, singing and cycling, golfing with friends, tootling on his trumpet and flugelhorn, and puttering around the yard and shop.

Thanks for stopping in and enjoy repeating the tour should ever the need arise.
